CJ is excited about what the rest of baseball season has to bring. She argued the Dodgers' rivalry with the hated orange and black is the best rivalry in sports. It has been around since the teams were on the East Coast and has grown since they relocated to California. 

This Monday, September 7th, is the TriTip Challenge where CJ and friends hike three peaks in the area. The owner of Ribline in Grover Beach, Brian, joined CJ in studio to discuss the hike and the lunch provided afterwards. Contact CJ if you would like to join! Crossfit athletes are the fittest people in the world, CJ says. The Crossfit Games proved that and she thinks the sport is here to stay. Crossfit Five Cities owner Chad Franco was in studio to talk about his trip down to the games and the nature of the sport.

CJ is frustrated with the media coverage and sexism in sports. Women are doing great things this summer and not getting the attention they deserve, she says. Becky Hammon is the first woman to lead a team to the Las Vegas Summer League championship and is not getting enough credit for the accomplishment, but meanwhile we're still talking about Deandre Jordan. What the heck? 

Also, Blair Young from B4BC called in to talk about the work B4BC is doing and the upcoming US Surfing Championships... And Kelly Donohue from the Central Coast Classique joined CJ in studio to talk about the great event and encouraged everyone to get involved.

CJ was fired up about the US Women’s soccer team advancing to the World Cup final. Games like the semi against Germany are what sports fans live for, she said.

Also, she was excited to announce her new endeavor: 10k for B4BC (Boarders for Breast Cancer). She and Cal Poly strength and conditioning coaches Chris Holder and Chris White will be completing 10,000 kettlebell swings, squats, push-ups etc. in July. Long time San Louis Obispo Symphony conductor, Michael Nowak, co-hosted with CJ. He's a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan and has been around many historic sporting events. Michael's career has taken him across the country and the globe and he has scored many Academy Award winning films. 

Also, Allan Hancock head football coach, Kris Dutra, unveiled plans for an on-campus stadium. This is the first time the team will be playing on-campus, but CJ was more worried about where the press box will be.

This week, CJ talked NBA Finals, and she reminisced on some of her favorite memories covering the league. She was at the '96 finals in Chicago when Michael Jordan returned to basketball! 

Also, University of Nevada head basketball coach, Eric Mussleman, joined the show. He has coached all levels of the game -- from college to professional to international. The key to being a successful coach is keeping the focus on the players, he says, and both Steve Kerr and David Blatt are doing just that.

This week, CJ spent the show talking basketball with two legends. In advance of the NBA Finals, four-time champion Horace Grant was in studio and Sacramento Kings Head Coach George Karl joined on the phone. 

Horace revealed his superstitious pre-game routine, and the superstitions of some of his former teammates, including Michael Jordan and Shaq.Coach Karl expressed his excitement to be back coaching and explained what he is doing for improvement in year two with the Kings.

This week on the show, CJ gave some insight into the behind-the-scenes world of radio. She has been trying to book Sacramento Kings coach, George Karl, to talk NBA playoffs. Also, CJ explained that NBA coaches need more credit, especially David Blatt in Cleveland and Steve Kerr in Golden State.

Jordan Rubin joined CJ in-studio to talk about the incredible work he has done to reverse chronic illnesses by eating a natural diet. This week life is infiltrating sports. CJ explained that sports is meant to be the escape from reality; but this week riots in Baltimore postponed baseball games and then the Orioles played in an empty stadium, and an earthquake in Nepal created an avalanche on Mount Everest.

Also, CJ is appalled at the sport of boxing. Floyd Mayweather has been accused of seven crimes and will make over $100 million this weekend in a fight. He is a disgusting human, and people will pay to watch him.

It is the third anniversary of The CJ Silas Show, so CJ had a party. She reminisced on her journey with the show. Saturdays at 7 am is not the best radio timeslot, but she is happy with the show’s growth.

CJ made her official announcement that her problems with the Dodgers are too much. She’s becoming a Seattle Mariners fan. The CJ Silas Show's official sports psychologist, James Leath, helped CJ cope with leaving the Dodgers after a lifetime of supporting the team.
